We answer regulatory obligations — and show our work.
ObligationAtlas exists because the highest-stakes compliance questions (deadlines, fees, who-must-file) are mostly answered by law-firm marketing and content farms that never show where their numbers come from. We do the opposite: every figure is bound to its primary government source, shown verbatim, and timestamped.
Who runs it
Patrick Béland — Founder & operator
Patrick founded and runs ObligationAtlas, and built the verification pipeline behind it — the system that binds every figure on the site to its primary government source and timestamps it. His background is software and data-intelligence products, not law: he is not a lawyer, and legal-obligation claims are routed through independent qualified review before they publish.

Legal review
We are transparent that we are not a law firm and our operator is not a lawyer. Every legal-obligation claim is bound to a primary government source before it publishes, and we are engaging qualified, credentialed reviewers to independently validate those claims. Until a claim has been reviewed, we rely on the verbatim primary-source binding shown on each page — and we flag anything we cannot verify rather than guess. This page will name reviewers as they are added.
